Thanks for Being Here

Quill Counseling does therapy differently. Rooted in the values of collaboration, affordability, and uniquely tailored therapeutic approaches, I am a clinician excited to bring mental health services to the Olympic Peninsula that are based in both science and the creative arts.

All of us can benefit from extra support. Reaching for help means trusting the transformative power of connected and compassionate relationship. Some chapters of our lives are fields wild with joy and hope, while others feel like dark forests—overwhelming, uncertain, isolated and easy to become lost in. Therapy is a space where your full story and self can be authentically witnessed. It’s a process that allows for deeper understanding of what thoughts, emotions and beliefs narrate your path.

Wherever you are at right now, whatever is weighing heavy on your heart or mind, I am here to meet you. Though I carry a full toolbox of approaches and interventions, I especially enjoy facilitating narrative therapy and incorporating alternative modalities of intuitive, non-verbal exploration. Children and adults alike, no matter the age or “ability” can benefit from expressive writing, art and play techniques. I welcome clients between ages 3-12 and over 18; in addition, I value working with older adults, given my training and background in geriatric mental health.

As a strength-based practitioner, I’m guided by the principles that all people are experts of their own lives, carry within them the innate ability to change, hold inner resources to overcome obstacles and are not defined by their struggles. Let’s open up a new page of healing together.

Holly Roland, MA, LMHC

Jake Nassiri, LMHCA
has joined the team.

Our expanded  services offer an additional option in community counselors. Jake’s background in non-profit work taught him how to empathetically work with survivors of domestic violence, those in recovery, seniors and youth. His clinical interests have branched into grief processing, the effects of technology and ecotherapy. He believes that an authentic, trusting counseling relationship is paramount.

Counseling Services

In addition to counseling for a range of struggles, we also offer specialized services.

All Are Welcome.

Equality and safety matter. Our clinicians strive to work from a social justice perspective, aiming to practice in a culturally responsive manner that considers the historical, social and contextual factors that maintain inequality, the marginalization of vulnerable individuals and ongoing disenfranchisement of oppressed communities. We continue to learn about the  widespread effects of racism, sexism, heterosexim, ageism, ethnocentrism, classism and xenophobia in order to contribute to a more just world. Though it is a lifelong effort, we remain committed to growing our knowledge of systemic discrimination; we challenge and uncover personal biases and privileges so that we can better advocate for change.

We are allies to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA)  individuals. Quill Counseling believes in accessible, affordable mental health services and provides pro-bono and sliding scale payment options, as well as mobile outreach, home visits and after-hours appointments. We are dedicated to serving the rural communities of Jefferson County and are honored to be your neighbor.
